Other Information
Comments:   Bassest/vocalist looking for a giging band I'm a 38 yr old male. I am looking for a steady gig in a Rock & Roll Group. I am in the Waterloo area. My primary instrrment is Bass Guitar. I also play Rhythm Guitar. (elec & Acc).Vocal abilities include Melody/lead and Harmony/Backup. I have over 2O yrs band/gig experience. Recording studio experience. Entertainment back round. Song writing/arranging capabilities. I do not have any mixing/PA board abilities. I am currently studying songwriting and piano basics. Major influences include: Oldies(Berry to Bob Dylin goes elec.) Classic rock(pre Van Halen) Hair Band(Van Halen to Nirvana) Metal (British New Wave to present) MTV Era (i.e Hall & Oats-Devo-Weird AL) Outlaw Country (i.e. Cash-Coe-Hank III) Folk (i.e. P. Seeger-Simon/Gfunk-) Motown. I understand the qualities of Reggie but it has never "hit me"--at least not yet. Not a Fan of: Jam Bands (i.e. Gdead-Fish) Pop country (sounds like 80's pop to me) Hip-Hop (with rare exception i.e. Public Enemy) 90's Alternative (i.e. Smashing pumpkins- 7Mary3) R 'n B (modern) Pandering Bands (i.e. Toby Kieth/Creed/Nickleback). Novelty (i.e. Death to All But Metal/Save a horse Ride a Cowboy). Some bands do not realize that loud and distorted is not what constitutes a "Heavy" riff. (A good example of a "Heavy" riff would be "Wake-Up Lil Suzie, Wake-Up Duh Duh Duh Duh" A more modern example would be "Over the Hills..." by Led Zeppelin). This is just a general guideline on styles of music I dig and dig not so much. I do make it a point to listen objectively to (most) everything I come across on a daily basis, if just to see what all the hype is about. (i.e. Lady Gaga- Justin Bieber). I am a 38 yrs of age. I am single(dating) I have 2 children who are adults and not a distraction. I have reliable transportation, My own Gear (Bass/Guitar/amps), Minimum P.A. Gear (Mic/stand), Minimum Recording equipment (Tascam 4 track), Ability to attend scheduled practice sessions regularly. Ability to attend scheduled gigs/appearances regularly (including setup and tear down). Willing to "donate" sets for charity(i.e. Cedar River Festival). I do not drink alcohol (I prefer to entertain those who are "unwinding"). I do not take drugs. I have attached a photo. I have no audio attachments at this time. I hope this Will lend enough information for you to consider allowing Me a tryout. Rock N Roll is a strong desire for me and I am willing to make a solid commitment to a committed Rock & Roll group(no pun intended). Thank you for your time. Gene Jaramillo
